If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you are trying to make plans for Valentines Day. Indeed, this holiday may not be an official federal holiday, but it is important nonetheless. If you have a special someone in your life, it is critical that your Valentine’s Day is planned out accordingly. One of the most important things to consider is where you will go for Valentines Day. Indeed, there are a lot of places to spend Valentine’s Day, but if you choose the wrong place, you could be in trouble and your date could go badly.

Here are some of the best places to spend Valentine’s Day.

Think about what kind of food your date or significant other likes.

Before looking for Valentines Day greeting cards, you really want to make sure that you know what kind of food your date likes. If your date doesn’t like spicy, you probably don’t want to do Thai or Indian. If you don’t know your date that well, you may want to ask. There is no harm in simply asking. Even if you have known your partner for a long time, you may want to ask. After that, you can purchase a greeting card to express your love or affection.

Look for the most highly rated restaurants.

Obviously, one of the best places to spend Valentine’s Day is in a restaurant. However, not all restaurants will be good. When you purchase candies for Valentines Day, there is a good chance that chocolate will taste good no matter where you buy it from, but a restaurant can be much more risky. This is why you want to use the web and other methods to make sure you find a restaurant that is highly rated and has positive commentary from other patrons.

Browse the web for the best entertainment in your area.

Another one of the greatest places to spend Valentines Day is a lounge or jazz club. There is nothing more romantic than dim lighting, the soft sounds of the saxophone and a smooth voice. In order to find the best places in your area, you may want to use the web to search for clubs or musical venues. There is a good chance that there is a location close enough to you. You could even stop by after dinner – some clubs have a full dinner menu, so you can streamline your entire romantic evening.

If you are heading out of town, be sure to find packaged deals.

Of course, clothing for Valentines Day can be a great gift, but so can going out of town. If you really want to impress when it comes to places to spend Valentine’s Day, you may want to grab a ticket for a weekend getaway. Before you head out, you may want to book a packaged deal that includes a plane ticket and hotel – it may even include meals and spa treatment too.

Use social media to see what your friends are doing or where they are going.

Social media can be a great platform to find places to spend Valentines Day. Whether it’s an evening out or simply a night in, there is a good chance that your friends have some ideas that you can work off of. In the end, finding something to do and somewhere to go on Valentines Day is easy if you have even the tiniest seedling of an idea.

Make sure that you know how much you are willing to spend.

If you aren’t willing to spend that much money, you may want to stay close to home. In fact, you may just want to have a quiet night in and make some dinner. You can then set the table with some candles and you’ll have a romantic staycation. When it comes to the best places to stay for Valentines Day, home may literally be where the heart is.

If you do decide to get out of town, you want to make sure that you have everything planned out.

You could wing it and just hit the road, but this may cause you to miss something and your romantic trip won’t be as fun. This is why you want to do your research and you want to get the best hotel. When it comes to the best place to spend Valentines Day, you don’t want to wind up in a motel that is infested with cockroaches. Plus, you don’t want to go to a town that shuts down after a certain hour. What happens if you want to go out and celebrate?

Try someplace new.

If you have already been some place for Valentine’s Day, you may want to try an entirely new location. This can be especially important if have been in a marriage for many years and want to spice things up. Sometimes, a change of scenery can go a long way. Of course, you will still need to get flowers for Valentines Day, but that will be a breeze once you find a locale that you’ve never been too before. When you have never been someplace, there is a lot more room to explore.

Make sure it is fun.

The last thing you want is to visit a location where there aren’t any restaurants, nightlife or places to go. This is the opposite of a good time. Indeed, you want to make sure that you can walk out of your hotel room and have easily accessible establishments to visit. In a lot of locations, the hotel is located too far away from this kind of access. Of course, this would be just fine if the hotel was purposefully remote, but if the hotel is located on a lonely stretch of freeway, you probably want to keep searching.

Make sure that whatever you do or wherever you go, it’s romantic.

When it comes to finding the best places to spend Valentine’s Day, you want to be sure that it is romantic. If the location isn’t romantic, you won’t have a good time. In the end, if your Valentine’s Day date is not romantic, you won’t have as much fun – this is why finding a romantic destination is so important.

Really great article! Thank you for sharing this, it helped me to plan Valentine’s day for my girlfriend 🙂 I’ve found pretty good restaurants in my city, so I just booked one of them, who still had some free tables. After a good dinner we will go to a jazz bar to get some cocktails and to listen beautiful music. I hope this evening will be perfect!

  • Really great post! I have to pass this along to my hubby. I definitely want to go out to eat that day, and today passed by a Brazilian Steakhouse in NYC. Hopefully, he will want to go back with me! For anybody trying to find packaged deals, Groupon might be the way to go!

This is very sensible advice. I think trying somewhere new is important but the most important thing is definitely fun! Valentine’s Day is, after all, the experience of being with your partner and that could be anywhere as long as you are enjoying yourselves. I think the trouble with too much planning is that it risks becoming a little grave and stressful. What if she has a tummy bug on the day or what if you are feeling annoyed because of work? The key is to choose something but be prepared for life’s little ups and downs and weather them together. Fun is definitely the best tip in this post.

I preferred to be at home during Valentines day when I still have a partner. But, now that I’m single, I’m planning to do exciting activities so that my day will not be boring at all. Spending the day at home is still a great idea but I will just be reminded with the past relationship that didn’t work out so I will go out and do something that could bring fun and enjoyment to a single lady like me!

Very important to plan! I once had a guy take me to a burlesque show and I even had to pay my way in. At least he had a good Valentine’s Day! :/

I think going out of town for Valentine’s Day is the best solution. However, be sure to plan ahead. I’ve had a spontaneous trip organized by an ex, it didn’t turned out well! So, just follow the tips in this article and you’ll be good.
